One of most successful new additions to the Goodwood weekend this year was competitive racing on the Friday. And what a spectacle it was. Timed to deliberately run into dusk on Friday evening, the Freddie March Memorial Trophy was a ninety minute two-driver race for cars in the spirit of the Goodwood Nine Hour races from 1952 to 1955. The atmosphere was amazing as the evening light faded away and the old race cars switched to the glow of sixty year old headlights to guide their way around this historic track. Hopefully this race will become a fixture for years to come.
