Car number 64

Mark's '65 Ex-Rally 911

We met Mark Hersee at a recent GRRC track day at Goodwood. It was his first time on the Goodwood track in this gorgeous and very purposeful-looking 911. It was built to rally spec by Tuthills, and used in earnest for that purpose in the US. You can see some pictures of it in action at the Prescott Rally here, here and here. Since owning the car, Mark has had Tuthills lower the car and change the gear rations to more suit track use, as well as having the wheels polished and more mechanical track prep. For those interested in these kinds of things, it is a matching numbers car, and Mark is planning to re fit some of the items required to get its FIA HTP papers. It's a beautiful car that sounded and looked fantastic and poised on the track. It was great to meet Mark and mates, all genuine Porsche/car nuts and good people.

Goodwood Revival Sunday #1

We have a huge pile of photos from the Sunday at Goodwood revival, mostly taken either first thing in the morning, or in the evening after the racing had finished. Here is a small selection from the morning, with the damp and condensation laying on the cars and paddock, and cars being prepped for the days racing.

Friday At Goodwood Revival 2011

I like Friday at Revival. It's a little quieter than the weekend days and there is a great atmosphere of anticipation. I enjoy walking the paddock and watching the mechanics prepare the cars and the drivers re-acquaint themselves with them. Although a lot of these photos were taken early in the morning before the mechanics and drivers made it out to the paddock, you can see some being rolled off to scrutineering or to the assembly area to get ready for their practice sessions.
