3.2 Engine Teardown

I found this superb stop-motion film via Bob Tilton's excellent WerkCrew blog. It documents Matthias Höing of Höing Sportmotoren tearing down a Porsche Carrera 3.2 motor. Beautifully made film.

NSRA Billing Hot Rod Show

A few pics from a great day at the NSRA Hot Rod Show in Billing yesterday. The sun shining and a field of stunning hot rods is always going to make for a good day, but this show has such a laid back atmosphere too we really enjoyed it and will definitely be back next year.

As usual we took stacks of photos that we need to go through, so these are a little taster to set the scene.

Stanford Hall (1 of 2)

More pictures from Stanford Hall VW show. The Porsche 912 Register display won the best club display award, with what is believed to be the largest gathering of 912s for many years (12 in total I think). It was a good day, great to catch up with friends and all that jazz.

Rolling With Friends

One of the greatest pleasures of this car hobby is driving with your mates. We haven't done much of it for a while, last time for a long time was to wheels day on Good Friday. But a couple of weeks ago we had the fortune to meet up with a couple of pals on the way up to the Stanford Hall VW show. What cars to drive with too - Ad's super-rare Rometsch Lawrence (a coachbuilt body on a VW type 1 pan and running gear for those who aren't familiar) - ably assisted by Ant, and James' '58 UK Standard bug. Both amazing cars that look even better rolling along the road. So on a chill but thankfully dry Sunday morning in May we had a blast, with the Lady Van Wildhorne giving our '65 vintage speed bug the beans.

Gasser TIme!

Okay, not quite – gasser wheel time. I make no excuses, I am a sucker for a gasser. This one was at Wheels Day 2013 a few weeks ago.
